Creamed Chipped Beef

A traditional century old recipe enjoyed across the country. Use our Knauss Dried Beef in this recipe to make a delicious topping for toast, biscuits, baked potatoes, home fries, noodles, pizza, rice and more.

 Ingredients

  • Knauss Dried Beef
  • 4   Tbsp. Butter
  • 4   Tbsp. Flour
  • 2½ cups Milk

Directions

Shred dried beef and brown lightly with butter in skillet.  Mix in flour, and then stir in milk.  Cook until thickened over low/medium heat. Option #1:  Add 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce for a hearty flavor. Option #2:  Add 1/2 cup sour cream for a rich flavor. Option #3:  Add 1/4 tsp. chili pepper and 1/4 tsp. cumin for a Southwestern flavor. Serve over toast, biscuits, baked potatoes, home fries, noodles, pizza, or rice.

  1. creamed chipped beef on toast…family favorite when I was growing up…Can’t find it anywhere like the dried chipped beef my mother bought in 1960…How do I get some so I can make this 🙂
